Challenge
To assess the effectiveness, engagement, and learning outcomes of a leadership course. This game was intended to be a part of a full course and provides a metaphor for reaching their career goals all while testing their knowledge of the course. Gain insights into how gamification enhances leadership and tactical decision-making skills. Identification of elements that increase engagement and learning retention.

The learner must answer 10 increasingly harder questions to reach the top.
The learner is given an opportunity to correct one mistake per question. If a learner makes two consecutive mistakes, they are rescued and the learner must start from the beginning.

The learner has the ability to collect 3 badges in all. The final badge being at the top of the mountain.
Solution
I designed a journey map for the user to show their progress. The learner is prompted to move through 10 increasingly harder questions in sequence in order to pass the assessment. The learner gathers insights as they collect badges at mid-points of the game.
